DERBY - COMPETITION RULES
1. Open to
all competitors, male and female, over the age of 17 years, with a current
driver’s licence and suitable insurance.
2. No consumption of alcohol less than 12 hours before said event. Anybody
found intoxicated will be banned from the current and any future Demolition
Derbies at Nowra Speedway. No drinking of alcohol in the pits until the
completion of the race meeting.
3. The event is started when the RED light is turned to GREEN. The officials
may at any time change the lights back to RED in the event of an accident
or fire. Flashing lights will also be activated on the Fire Truck. All
action must cease immediately when the RED light is on.
4. All cars must be at the racetrack by 4.30 pm to be scrutineered between
4.30pm and 5.30pm. Any cars not passed will have the opportunity to correct
any problems and be re-inspected prior to the race.
CARS NOT IN THE PIT AREA BY 6.00PM WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO COMPETE UNTIL
A PAYMENT OF $50 for LATE SCRUTINEERING FEE IS PAID. ****NO EXCEPTIONS****
5. Crash
helmets and seat belts must be of an approved type and be worn at all
times.
6. All drivers must wear racing uniforms or overalls. NO THONGS, SHORTS,
T-SHIRTS ALLOWED. Overalls and racing uniforms must have full-length sleeves
(No Bib & Brace Overalls). No thongs to be worn in the pit area at
any time.
7. Overalls and/or racing uniforms together with helmets must be presented
for inspection at scrutineering. Uniforms should be clean and free from
oil, grease and petrol.
8. Any cars immobilized for longer than one (1) minute will be deemed
to be out of the event.
9. ANY CARS DEEMED BY OFFICIALS NOT TO BE PARTAKING IN THE DEMOLITION
DERBY WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY DISQUALIFIED.
10. DRIVER’S USING THE INFIELD GRASS AREA WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.
11. ANY DRIVER’S DOOR DEEMED TO BE HIT ON PURPOSE BY A FELLOW COMPETITOR;
THE OFFENDING DRIVER WILL BE INSTANTLY DISQUALIFIED.
12. FIRST AND REVERSE GEAR TO BE USED ONLY. ANY COMPETITOR FOUND TO BE
USING 2ND AND 3RD GEAR WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.
13. On receipt of paid entry, a number will be allocated.
14. Prize monies: Winning cars may be re-inspected after the event before
official placings are given. Placings given over the Public Address system
are not final until the re-inspections have taken place.
15. Decision of Judges, Referees and Scrutineers are final. No protest
will be considered.
16. Management of Nowra Speedway has the right to refuse the entry of
any driver.
17 ANY fighting will earn a life ban from all further Demolition Derbies.
CARS
THAT DO NOT ABIDE BY THE RULES OUTLINED IN THE VEHICLE SPECIFICATION SHEET
AND COMPETITION RULES SHEET WILL NOT TAKE PART IN THE DEMOLITION DERBY.
